Melbourne, the capital of the Australian state Victoria, is home to a diverse population with so many amazing live events, food options, walking trails and of course, coffee! Below you can find some suggestions of Jackie and Adrian’s favourite things to do in Melbourne.

  • Visit Albert Park Lake (home to the F1 track) - one loop around is a 5km run/walk

  • Grab an Aussie style flat white or iced long black at one of the many cafes around the CBD/Bayside area. Our favourite cafes are Happy as Larry (Mentone), Jack the Geezer (Middle Park), Market Lane Coffee (CBD)

  • Visit the Moonlit Sanctuary down the Peninsula for a chance to meet a Koala. Tickets can be booked here.

  • Unfortunately, Australian rules football (AFL) season won’t be on in early March (it will commence mid-March 2027), but the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground is still very much worth a visit! Fun fact: it is the largest stadium in the Southern Hemisphere!

  • Visit the iconic streets of Fitzroy and pop into one of the many eclectic, vibrant shops like Lost and Found Market

  • Dine at Gemma Italian restaurant on Lygon St in Carlton

  • Melbourne is home to a diverse Asian population. Chinatown is well worth a visit - pop into Shanghai Street for from BYO dumplings!
